Born in Glasgow in 1949, Sam Skelton studied at Glasgow School of Art before beginning his career as a graphic designer. While building his design career, painting remained central to his life, and eventually demand for his paintings led him to become a rather reluctant full-time artist - yet his work continues to be admired for its character and atmosphere in the art world in Scotland and beyond. The Port Gallery is based in Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire, just outside of Glasgow, and presents an exclusive collection of Sam Skelton original paintings and art prints to collectors locally and worldwide.
