Born in Glasgow in 1949, Sam Skelton studied at Glasgow School of Art before pursuing a successful career in graphic design. Painting remained a lifelong passion, and over time he became renowned for his expressive style and ability to capture both people and animals with remarkable character and emotion. His work continues to be admired for its warmth, storytelling, and distinctive artistic voice. Painting full time until his death in 2022.
